GL05 Reading Refresher (GL05)

Description
PA05 Reading Refresher Module is common to all health professions and relevant to the workplace environment.

The Reading Part A Module provide specific patient centered information that is related to everyday tasks in the workplace such as verifying dosage amounts from a chart or consulting presenting factors to diagnose a problem. Candidates develop the skill of skim and scan as Reading Part A involves speed reading, quick grasp of text and understanding its purpose.

The Reading Part B is on workplace communication, understanding messages, purpose and detail. It involves reading through a variety of short but dense text encountered in the workplace or text that are policy or workplace documents and updates.

Reading Part C - identifies the purpose, main idea and the opinion in research articles from the medical field or a review of articles on recent research, articles from regulatory professional bodies and other articles discussing developments in medicine. The focus in this unit is to be able to comprehend a slightly denser course of information, identify opinions or infer meaning.

PEAR strongly recommends a daily learning schedule, as there is a significant number of self-study hours required. The hours are indicative and for some it may take longer or shorter to achieve success. The course is designed to challenge you and at the same time help you to understand the skills and test formalities through quizzes, activities and Mock trials.
