Description
AU06 Writing Module
The writing module is centered on writing a formal letter usually a referral letter, discharge or a transfer letter and is profession specific.

Writing Part A - prepares individuals through understanding expectations when handling patients and the important use of active Writing in the process. The sub -module has units that help prepare individuals to understand industry standards and expectations when structuring a referral letter sourcing various professional services upon discharge.

The Writing Part B (comprehension of stimulus) has skills that help prepare individuals to pose questions or make requests of the reader when writing a referral, discharge, or transfer letter. The unit helps individuals to develop skills for identifying relevant information in the Case Notes based on ISBAR and construct a letter involving active Writing.

Writing Part C - has skills that help individuals understand expectations when communicating a patient's condition. It develops the skill for requesting in writing the ongoing care/treatment of the patient. The candidate learns the skill of constructing a referral, discharge or transfer letter.

PEAR strongly recommends a daily learning schedule, as there is a significant number of self-study hours required. The hours are indicative and for some it may take longer or shorter to achieve success. The course is designed to challenge you and at the same time help you to understand the skills and test formalities through quizzes, activities and Mock trials.
