PA11 Speaking Module

Speaking module is focused on the health professional that is specific, being able to elicit information from a patient. Tests your ability to communicate clearly, understand patient lay language, gather and given information, reassure the patient or family members and provide advice.

Speaking Part A - prepares individuals through understanding expectations when handling patients and understanding, recognizing, and incorporating the patient’s perspective.

Speaking Part B -the Module has units that help prepare individuals to understand industry standards and expectations and in building a relationship.

Speaking Part C - The unit will help you to understand and incorporate the patient’s perspective when gathering information allowing the patient to contribute their reactions/feelings and enabling interactive approach to giving information to the patient. Understand the importance of “active listening” and how to ask open-ended and close-ended questions as well as clarify statements for further amplification. Finally, to have the ability to summarise gathered information ensuring accuracy and facilitating the patient’s further responses.

PEAR strongly recommends a daily learning schedule, as there is a significant number of self-study hours required. The hours are indicative and for some it may take longer or shorter to achieve success. The course is designed to challenge you and at the same time help you to understand the skills and test formalities through quizzes, activities and Mock trials.
